Holidays Work Schedules and Pay

In the event the President issues an Executive order granting a “half-day” holiday, employees on a flexible work schedule are entitled to holiday premium pay for work during the last half of their “basic work requirement” (i.e., non-overtime hours) on that day, not to exceed 4 hours. The federal holidays listed above are designated by the United States Congress in Title V of the United States Code (5 U.S.C. 6103).
